Job Description
To coordinate all manufacturing related activities in the department including Environmental/Health/Safety administration, Quality Systems, internal customer interface, preventative and daily maintenance, daily operations, productivity and positive employee relations. Coordinate the activities of the manufacturing employees and set-up personnel. Work closely with the following departments: Human Resource, Quality, Engineering and Maintenance personnel
Required Skills
Maintain a safe and clean work environment for all employees and compliancy with plant policies and procedures including requirements for TS16949 and ISO 14001
Work towards positive employee relations within the department
Assure that quality, productivity, and cost are maintained within the department''s budget
Fulfill production schedules to meet customer needs
Work closely with production employees and Engineering to assure parts specifications are in compliance
Manage and monitor the relationship of downtime, changeovers, and process improvements as it directly relates to quality, efficiency and scrap
Ability to challenge the status quo and champion change
Must be able to assess strengths and developmental needs of employees as well as provide challenging assignments and opportunities for development for the employees
Work across boundaries to improve collaboration between organizational lines and foster teamwork
Promote ideas and proposals persuasively and energetically, and have a clear vision of performance goals for the plant/business
Direct challenge while maintaining an operating effectiveness, and monitor the results
Adaptable to the changing demands in order to meet goals
Responsible for managing hazardous waste generated during the manufacturing process until the waste is transferred to the waste storage area. Supervise the transfer of waste material to the storage area from the accumulation areas. Ensure that all drums containing hazardous waste ate properly labeled with content description and accumulation start date.
Obtain annual training in hazardous waste management.
Required Experience

High School diploma or equivalent education, college degree preferred; two to five years experience in manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Good computer and communication skills.
Above average structured problem solving techniques and documentation skills.
Supervisor/Management experience.
Strong customer service orientation.
