To operate a retail store within a given budget while meeting or exceeding a production plan, monthly sales goals and planned company contribution.
Essential Duties:
Continually support and work cooperatively as a team player with all members of retail and upper management as well as all other departments within GICMH.
Serve as positive, productive role model to all associates, participants and customers.
o Appropriate and professional verbal communication, appearance and actions.
o Comply with and enforce all agency policies and procedures.
o Provide a high level of customer service for both management and staff Oversee shipping and receiving between store and plant within appropriate timelines.
o Ensure outgoing items are prepared and properly labeled (carts, hangers, rags, etc) o Ensure all completed and required items are forwarded to headquarters o Maintain open communication with plant supervisor in regards to any shipment concerns and/or requests Ability to create and meet or exceed monthly production plan while ensuring all quality and quantity standards are met.
Ability to create and meet or exceed monthly sales goals and planned contribution.
Responsible for all human resources management o Recruit, hire and train staff to ensure you have a functional cohesive staff and highly skilled assistant managers that possess the ability to be promoted.
o Performance Appraisals.
o Maintaining updated employee and participant files.
o Corrective Actions.
Responsible for timely completion and posting of store staff work schedules.
These schedules are to be written to meet company needs while staying within budgeted hours.
Review and respond to customer complaints in a professional manner.
Develop a store culture that prevents complaints.
Oversee and follow all opening and closing procedures.
o Thermostats adjusted to meet seasonal needs o All lights; on at open, off at close - arrive 10 minutes ahead of opening shift.
o All doors; unlocked at open, locked at close o All donated goods inside of building o Ensure store is recovered to company standards at close of business.
Responsible for all cash handling issues.
o Daily cash count sheets o Bank Deposits o Register transactions.
o Investigation of overages and shortages within appropriate time lines.
Follow weekly rotation policies on all goods Responsible for periodic inventory, as scheduled.
Provide complete and accurate information on all required items to be forwarded to corporate headquarters o Daily sales/cash received reports o Time cards o Weekly production and donation reports o Month end hours used o Donation Receipts o Monthly production plan Availability to meet operation needs.
o Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
o Ability to respond to alarm and emergency calls - must have own phone to receive these calls o Ability to attend all scheduled retail training and meetings and provide own transportation and adequate insurance for such.
Must maintain a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.
Must be able to respond to alarm calls and make bank deposits Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed Ability to respond to alarm and emergency calls - must have own phone to receive these calls Ability to attend all scheduled retail training and meetings and provide own transportation and adequate insurance for such.

Ability to reach, bend, twist and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Skills Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Work Experience Requirements:
Retail related sales experience Minimum of two year management/supervision experience Marketing and/or merchandising training preferred.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred We are searching for someone dependable to join our team.
As a store manager you will supervise the process from collection to sales of donations to help people in that community and others in Central Michigan get work experience, job training, and other services.
You will be working with the public so a positive attitude and friendliness are a must.
We collect everything from furniture to clothing so you will be handling a wide variety of items every day, big and small, and need to be able to help move the donations and sort them throughout the work day.
You will oversee the process of reviewing these donations, getting them ready to sell, and then selling all our merchandise.
Helping the community to get good finds for a great cost and funding our programming to put people to work in Marshall at the same time.
