Summary:
Responsible for correcting, completing, and processing claims of all payer codes.
Essential Functions:
Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
Enters charges/verifies interface charges.
Processes patient credit card payments.
Follows-up on insurance and patient balances.
Works denials for all insurance companies.
Sends appeals, if necessary.
Handles accounts receivable.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High School diploma.
Six (6) months previous insurance billing experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Associates degree preferred.
Knowledge of current billing and patient collections methods/requirements.
Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT Coding and previous experience in a health care setting preferred.
Experience with Athena a plus.
Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Physical Requirements:
Constantly sit, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, talk/hear.
Occasionally lift/carry 1 to 25 lbs.
